WOW!!! It has been a long time since I have posted on here! I guess in keeping up Facebook and a Blog you can see which one got the priority. =P Well I decided I would like to start writing in here again. . .

Flight and Flop

Sooo you know that it has been a rough week when you are looking at the chicken leg quarters your daughter in law is making for her dinner and you can visualize two chickens flying around with no legs. They have to fly because they can't walk. Every morning the farmer throws them up in the air so he can collect their eggs. When they get tired they have to "land" which is pretty much flopping on the ground as close to the food as they can. If listening carefully you will hear such comments as, "Hey Henrietta it didn't hurt as much that time! I must be getting my callous!" They flop their heads around on the ground trying to get at the food with there beaks. You see with no feet it is hard to stay upright so they spend most of the time on their sides. Henrietta has to be careful she doesn't poke Bettie's eye again, it is finally starting to heal up from last time. In the evening the farmer comes back the lifts them into the coop so they can lay their eggs and get a good nights rest for tomorrow mornings flight and flop!
